AVI & Clip Browser

Is the export for AVI lossless?

For some reason I can't get audio out of MXF in Premiere, so I'm looking for a good alternative.

Thanks.

Have you tried mp4 files?

I was hoping for something more lossless.

No, I meant shooting in mp4 wrapper instead of mov. Then you will be able to import mp4 files to Premiere natively.

I'm completely confused by this thread. The EX cameras shoot MPEG2 which is stored in an mp4 wrapper, these files are in turn stored in a number of sub folders within a BPAV folder.

With Adobe CS4 and CS5 you should just import the entire BPAV folder directly into CS5 to open the files, there is no need to convert to MXF.

Unless you shoot SD. They are in an AVI wrapper.
