PMW-EX1, EX1r, and EX3 firmware upgrades

The latest firmware for these cameras is available, but not directly from the website. I finally decided to sit and redial many times to get through to the Sony support number ( 8008836817) listed on the site:
Sony | Micro Site XDCAM

It seems that they will only give you access to the firmware ftp site if you have firmware later than a certain version, especially for the EX3. I now have the firmware and the latest revision is actually 1.17 for the EX3.

to this unit and the timecode run mode is set to Rec Run in 720P
mode.

I can confirm that the update worked correctly for my EX3. I cannot confirm the new/better functionality.
