XDCAM browser multi copy?

Can XDCAM browser copy to multiple destinations (well 2 anyway) at the same time.. ?

This is an advantage of shotput pro.. I know XDCAM browser is recommended.. but if multiple copies are needed asap is shotput pro also ok to use for SXS footage UDF files..

Thanks

Re: XDCAM browser multi copy?

I believe you can open multiple browser windows, but it starts a transfer as soon as you drag it over. You cannot prepare another transfer as soon as one has started, so No, you cannot do multiple destinations at once.

As long as you have CRC checking enabled in Shotput and have stable SxS UDF drivers, I don't see an issue working with Shotput, but I would still want to hear from other people with Shotput experience since I don't own the software.

Yes, ShotPut Pro v4 (latest) is very good for multi destination disks.
We shot a 2 days event couple weeks ago with 3 cameras.
From 1 SxS card to eSATA & USB3 hard drives
or from 5 SxSxSDXC cards to eSATA & USB3 hard drives.
You can copy from multiple sources to mutiple destination without any problem.

Re: XDCAM browser multi copy?

Thanks Tuy

Yes Ive used it for a while now.. but not with SXS UDF files.. so just wanted to make sure it was ok with that format. Ive read.. that Sony not surprisingly recommend XDCAM browser.. and that software will join spanned clips which is handy.. and Ive taken that advise from forum members who know way more than me..mainly I was wanting to know if XDCAM browser could down load to multiple destinations.. seems not but thats not a huge deal for me.. but if I had to down load to say 3 HDD in a hurry I,d use shotput pro ..
Yes excellent software.. Ive never had a problem with it..
