Goodbye X180

My X180 returned from Sony with it's second replacement lens, plus a new board, to fix the back-focus thing that was irritating me. While it was out to lunch, my station replaced my work JVC 790 with an 890, and I bought a Sony A7s and A7sII. OMG, that thing can overexpose the inside of a black velvet box at f4.0! The X180 is about the best handheld ENG camera I can think of, especially with the live streaming function. The 25x super fast zoom is a Godsend, but the A7sII shoots 4K and is 20x as good in low light as the X180, just not in the same league.

I will be selling it off (has around 100 hours?) on eBay as well as a bunch of batteries and SxS cards and reader, SDXC adaptors etc. If anyone was looking for one of these in pampered condition, feel free to hit me up prior to me listing it. It's only a few months old, and has the best DSC charted calibration settings you will find loaded into it. :-D

Have you listed this on ebay yet.

Ya, it's the only used one in US eBay for sale, says MINT 12 hours. I didn't realize it had so little hours on it.

Re: Goodbye X180

It is worth noting this camera uses 19.5V DC similar to a laptop brick, so older third party batteries will not work with this camera.

Re: Goodbye X180

Correct, and certain newer third party batteries will work, but will not give accurate time remaining estimates. Version 2 firmware also killed Watson BPU batteries from functioning totally!

Now that your listing has expired on ebay are you still selling this camera?

Yes, it's set to auto-relist. :-)

Re: Goodbye X180

I highly advise anyone with D-tap batteries/battery plates to get this for your X180s. It's a D-tap to 19.5V adapter for the X180:

PC-19 | Power-con (Male) - 19.5v Sony PXW (40cm Length) - Hawk-Woods Ltd

B&H also has a similar product that seems to be getting good reviews. Despite what the description says, the X200 uses a standard DC port like the rest of the XDCAM handhelds, not the 19.5v:
