pmw200 changing back up battery
Has anyone here changed the back up battery on a pmw200 ? I have taken the cover off on the bottom of the camera and the battery looks really difficult to get out not to mention actually getting the new one in. I don't want to break anything so any advice would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Re: pmw200 changing back up battery
Is it a primary cell or a rechargeable battery?
Since the PMW-200 is a power drainer I leave my battery off most of the time and just connect it for a day or so from time to time (hoping that this fills the battery.. which would be pointless if it is non-chargeable *g*). My PMW-200 is 4 years old hence backup battery aging could become a problem (but isn't so far). Cheers, Alex |

Re: pmw200 changing back up battery
It is a common button cell battery.... lithium CR2032. It is very simple to change it out. Keep the camera in the normal upright orientation and it will probably fall out. Check which side is up before you remove the battery....I think it should be + side up. Just drop the new battery in! If I can do it, anyone can.
Use a quality brand battery like a Duracell. |
Re: pmw200 changing back up battery
In my manual it says page 122;
• Be sure to set the power switch to OFF when replacing the backup battery. • Be careful not to drop the removed screw into the camcorder. 1 Remove the screw of the backup battery holder (page 18), then remove the cover. Insert a nonmetalic item, such as a plastic toothpick, to the side of the battery and lever the battery out of its compartment. use a CR2032 battery |
