Official Release Date?
 

O.K. it's nearly July, and I just have to ask if any of the "well informed" members of this forum have "unofficially" heard what date in July Sony are going to give us all the details on the EX cameras?

I have talk with a B&H photo sales rep. about the XDCAm EX and they expected to be available till December.

Yes, I thought Sony had said that the camera would be officially "launched" (not available) in July...

Announced in April... Launched (not) in July... Available in...???

It still says October on Sony's EU website...

Of course most of the info we get from dealers is just as much "informed" speculation as we have here, and not really accurate until they have confirmed shipping dates from the manufacturer.

Sony Broadcast and Production Group New Zealand has released an email with an invite to an official launch event on 1 October.

Sorry, no other camera details were included.

Follow up call said cameras would be shipping in November for NZ.

Late October is the last official word I received. That can change if something happens in the production chain. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later.

If so we'd love you hear your thoughts on the camera.

It's too far from Australia unfortunately.

There'll be live demos at IBC no doubt, some ADs may well see it before that tho ;)

Only a couple of weeks to wait.

Yes, I will be going to IBC and I will be having a hands on play with an EX so I will report all as soon as I can.
