Ingest 50Mb/s 422
Hi guys,
i'm recieving XDcam HD material to edit wich could be recorded in 422 mode. Does anybody know if this can be FAM transerred using my PDW 330? Eelco

Not an expert.. but I believe FAM i Link will not work with 422.. only XE..

Got the disks today and tested. Both camera and PDW F30 say: "not supported" so you are right Robin.
I was hoping that in FAM mode it just sees files and doesn't look at codecs... The easiest way now is to rent a U1 or U2 drive.

sorry to hear that.. I meant EX of course !! I only know as I was advised not to bother down loading the FAM software for SXS cards.. for 422..

330/335/350/355 only read - 35mbit 1440x1080 4:2:0 mxf - 25mbit 1440x1080 4:2:0 mxf - 18mbit 1440x1080 4:2:0 mxf and DV/DVCAM type SD mxf For ingesting pdw700/800 50mbit 1920x1080 4:2:2 or IMX30/40/50 you definitely need either the cam (with SD Option for SD) or deck OR the PDW-U1 / U2 units. If you regularly need access , IŽd advise to buy a U1 - they are getting cheaper (U2 is faster) and read and write EVERYTHING coming from the disk camcorders. Uli |

Thanks Uli,
the rental U2 from Welkom - Europe Audio/Video Rent worked fine and was delivered the same day. (The material was recorded in an OB van) Since i mostly edit my own material i'll stay with the cam as feeder and rent a U1/2 if needed.
