Wide angle lens on Sony F3

I have a Sony F3 and I use all Nikon AIS lenses with the MTF adapter and I love them. Now the widest lens I have is the 24mm f2 but I would like to buy a wider angle like a 18mm I saw a nikon18mm ais f3.5 but also saw the nikon 17-35mm 2.8.Does anyone have experience with these or know what would be the best
Thanks Rudy

The Nikon 17-35mm F2.8 AF-S ED lens is one of the finest lenses Nikon has ever made. It has minimal barrel distortion at 17mm and is a very sharp lens. The zoom range is very handy for indoors, yet its still capable of DOF control.

I also have a Nikon 17 - 35 F 2.8 on my F3 and can highly recommend it, an excellent lens as Duke says.

cheers

I also have the 17-35mm f/2.8. Even though I don't really enjoy shooting with SLR lenses, I have to admit it is a nice fit for the F3.

You might also try the Tokina 11-16. I have the Duclos rehoused PL mount version and it's very nice. I've seen the MTF/Nikon version on an F3 too, and it looks just as good, if somewhat more fiddly to play with.

Yes another vote for the 17-35 Nikon F2.8. A remarkable lens and I agree with adding the Tokina 11-16 F2.8 to the kit if you shoot wide.

I too been pretty happy with the Nikon 17-35, though I have noticed a little bit of chromatic aberration near the far left and right edges when at full wide on my lens. Not sure if it's a general problem or just an issue with my particular lens.

How about Sigma's 17-50mm F2.8. It's got very good optical performance and a nice minimal focusing disctance of 11". I am not too found on its focus ring though but that is a common problem with DSLR auto-focus lenses these days.

Anf for something much wider, Tokina's 11-16mm F2.8 is great.

Take care,

I've been trying the Rokinon 8mm fisheye but it doesn't seem that sharp to me. Anyone else try it out?

Is the Sigma 17-50 or the Nikon 17-55 parfocal?

The Sigma does, never tried the Nikon.

Good work Rudy. I am currious about the type of slider you are using? Looks very smooth.
