FS5 - Catalyst Browse & Premiere question
 

Right now I'm importing my FS5 rushes directly into Premiere and viewing/organising them there. I import the whole file structure (PRIVATE & AVF_INFO) and not by digging down to the MXF files via XDROOT, Clip, etc.

Does anyone know if Catalyst Browse (CB) offers any advantage over final quality if initially importing into CB? Listening to a Sony webinar I heard them say CB interprets all the sidecar metadata to provide maximum quality for XAVC clips.

Obviously all the side car information is coming into Premiere via my import method without going through CB, but is Premiere interpreting the sidecar metadata in the same way that CB does?
