Problems with Merlin

I'm having problems with my Merlin, specifically at the middle joint that connects the two tubes together. The bottom tube does not stay in place, it can rotate slightly if I bump the weights. If I fold it up for handheld shooting it never comes back even close to trimmed. It takes a very minimal rotation to throw it out of balance and require trimming again. I can't tighten the allen screws any more without risking stripping them. I can't figure out why Steadicam designed these parts as detachable. My question is - is there any reason I shouldn't use epoxy to "weld" the parts together?

Hello Brett,

This sounds like a manufacturer's defect. Please feel free to give me a call at the office or shoot me an email. We will be able to fix your problem.
