...glidecam or don't even have the energy to build one then this might be the thing for you. The program is called steadymove and it seems to do wonders for getting very stable clips. Check out this link and go through the different examples they have:

I've been experimenting EXTENSIVELY with Dynapel's (dynapel.com) SteadyHand... they show AMAZING clips of footage that are converted from garbage to perfection...

Anyway, I have YET to get anything that isn't actually WORSE from the program. I've had ONE shot that was smoothed fairly well, but the stuff I have that looks like the stuff they show being fixed... isn't.

I had a shot from driving in the snow in St. Louis two years ago and just as I got out the cam and hit record some guy smashed into the centerwall on hwy 40... I caught him causing a 3 or 4 car accident... since I wasn't prepared to see this the footage was pretty much like the "gokart" footage on dynapel's site... anyway after running SteadyHand on it... it shakes even more, but in opposite directions... and now it has dropped frames and total blackouts... I also bought Dynapel's MotionPerfect which so far seems to work about as good as Twixtor... at one sixth the price of Twixtor...

The point is that some of this stuff will be great and some won't. Try before you buy.

I played around with Dynapel's stuff also and was disappointed as well.

Unfortunately with Steadymove, they don't have a try before you buy option! sigh...

Of they do. Check the site again under 'Try it out' in the menu.

Well, I just looked again and there is a try it out for their other product boujou, but not for Steadymove. Even the FAQ for Steadymove says that there is no demo available at this time.

If you find a specific link to a demo of Steadymove, please post it.

I've run some tests a long time ago with Boujou and that was
pretty neat. But that might be their high end product.

My motto: if you can't try it then don't buy it (that's at least
true for expensive items)

I've purchased Steadyhand and I've had pretty good results with it. You lose resolution as it needs to crop off certain areas in order to stabilize your footage. The shakier it is, the more it needs to crop. By using custom settings, I've been able to smooth out most problems.

Randall, you're right. I just didn't see that. Sorry for misleading you. You are right though about trying before you buy. I gotta know if it does what it says it does.
