homemade glidecam 2000 pro?
Hello all, I was curious. The GlideCam 2000 Pro seems like a rather simple device from the photos, so what's stopping me from building my own out of PVC and wood? It would sure beat the $300 pricetag. Is there some fancy component that I'm not seeing? I know that the weight and balance would take some tweaking, but I wouldn't be opposed to building several prototypes. What do you guys think?

The hard to notice part is the gimbal, it's where the handle attaches to the post. The gimbal allows for your movements to be isolated from the post (and camera attached to it).
The Home Built Stabilizers is definitely the place to go to learn more! Another great site for how stuff works: How Stuff Works Cheers, Huey |
