Started building the poor man's pipe based stabilizer today (didn't finish because of drill problem). I went with the design at www.steadycam.org (the 14$ thing). I decided to build it just to get a feel for having a weight underneath my camera and how that will affect my shooting. I will play around with it and report back to this forum.

On the other hand, I just purchased the codydeegan.com plans. As mentioned, I have a relative who has a metal/machine shop. Once we look at the plans together we'll make a decision about actually building or not. It'll be probably a week before they arrive by mail here in Amman, Jordan.

The Glidecam 2000 and Steadicam JR are still options, of course.

It would be great to hear from anyone who managed to buid the cody deegan design and actually used it.

That's it for now

Andy.. Wow.. Thanks for the pictures.. Keep them coming as you progress.

I am aware of both the forum and the test clips Codeydeegan.com. The clip "Concrete" is totally amazing (and the one entitled "test") is totally funny.

Thanks again and please do keep updating us on your progress with the building process.

Ahmad
