Stabilizer Newbie: What system for GY-HD100?

Hi all --

I needed some "smooth" shots with my JVC GY-HD100. Assuming that I remove the rails/mattebox/viewfinder/mic, etc, and make the cam as light as possible, what stabilizing system on a budget would give me good results? Is a vest needed or could I fly it handheld?

Thanks for your input!

There is no way you could fly it hand held.

I'd say minimum is really the Steadicam Flyer.

Dont think you could get one on a pilot.

Pilot will support up to 10 lbs, which I think will be manageable with a stripped down HD100 (especially if you power it off the Pilot rather than AB brick etc).

Oh yea thinking back, the HD100 didnt even come standard with the AB adapter, if you took off the viewfinder, and powered it off the sled you'd be okey.

Just got back from SMPTE and the flyer there was running an HD200, so thats immediately what i thought of.
