What happened to glidecamcentral?

Hi folks

Anyone know what happened to

http://www.glidecamcentral.com?

I'm getting a blank page.

It's a forum dedicated to glidecam operators.

Norman, I was wondering the same thing. It's been down for several days. It almost looks like they are in the middle of doing a design change on a live site. Very weird.

Hey Casey,

Any pics of the V35 yet, I'm gagging to have a look at the new dual action arm, one of the guys over at steadicam forum said he had a chance to use it at NAB and it was like a toned down gold arm.

Come on lets see some pics :)

John.

Oooh, found a picture of the V35 here with David Stevens showing it off :-) If you have any more pics though Casey I'd love to see them

Just over half way down you'll find it.

John.

John, the V-35 arm that David is showing off is the only complete one in existence at this point if i'm not mistaken. It's the prototype. Since it was only finished a couple days before the show, we haven't shot any official photos of it yet. Hopefully when it comes back up from Vegas we can get some better shots.

The observation that it's a "toned down Gold arm" is fairly accurate. The precision machined and carefully engineered Gold series is slowly casting its influence down the product line.

Nuice going Casey. It's looking to be a big seller.

Just a quick update, Glidecam Central seems to have suffered a crash actually, and we've tried to contact the people that run it and as of yet received no response.

The arm looks to be a lot better. Is there any talk of an existing V-16/20 owner upgrade program? Maybe sending my arm plus cash for an updated arm? :)

Casey Visco April 30th, 2004 02:13 PM

Andrew, the arm is indeed well beyond even my own expectations, I'm very excited about it. The V-35 will encompass the arm, an updated vest design, and a new sled as well. There will be an upgrade path for existing V-16 and V-20 owners.

Andrew Petrie April 30th, 2004 02:25 PM

Casey, I also have all of the existing accessories for the V-series (low mode, vista post, etc...). Does the V-35 rig utilize the same center post diameter? I'm just wondering if my vista post will become useless if I upgrade.

I've never had a chance to use my accessories yet, I might just sell them.

Casey Visco April 30th, 2004 02:45 PM

Andrew, where as the arm is possibly near completion, the V-35 sled is still in it's very early stages. So at this point there is no way to know if the existing v-16/v-20 accesories will work with it. It does look like it will have the same post diameter, however there are quite a few other factors involved.
