Are you guys using or going to use some kind of zoom controller
like the Varizoom, it would seem pretty vital no?

Walk in, Walk back is my zoom controller.

Michael try and find a zoom controller that is much leaner than the varizoom otherwise it is going to upset your operation. Trust me, you don't want that happening in a middle of a shoot.

I'm not saying it's impossible but believe me the bulk of the varizoom doesn't really cut it on a stabilizer.

A simple in and out controller would do thus lessening the bulk of all the other finesse. There are some out there. You probably do a search in google.

Being able to zoom while walking with a stabilizer is a tricky beast at best. I own a high-end zoom control that I use for broadcast work, and as great as it looks to move laterally while zooming I generally find that my footsteps "show through" the move a bit. It can be a powerful tool but it's pretty advanced stuff to throw into the mix.

- My mantra ever since the magiqcam arrived on Friday.

Well my Magiqcam is due to arrive on Monday. I also just got in a Stedicam Vest and arm for the Steadicam jr or dv steadicam. I'm liking that very much!!!

We'll see how the Magiqcam handles, hope Fedex delivers in the morning and not late afternoon.
