New Cam Stabilizer for GL2

Is it just as good as the higher priced models? You be the judge with this 5.5 MB movie file.

Hi Buddy,

Just a curiosity. Were those takes hand held or was the camcorder over any steady artifacts?

Best regards

Ignacio

Another trick is to use a mono-pod hanging from the cam (you can also add a small weight to the bottom of the pod to make it more stable). You can also just stick the foot of a partially extended mono-pod between your pants and belt, you'll have to tilt the head a bit but all of the load of the camera is now transfered to your waist.

Haven't tried this, but your post gave me an idea. Flag bearers have those belts with th ecup in them for th eflag pole, get one of those and use the monopod in that to be more secure than jamming in inside your belt and a bit more stable and spreads the load further.

Manfrotto sell a 080 monopod belt pouch. You slide it on your belt and brace the end of the monopod in the cup.

Look under tripods/monopod accessories

Any Manfrotto dealer should be able to order it.

Yes, much better but not quite as colorful! If you live near a salt water fishing port you can find fishing belts made for the butt of the rod to rest into. I've seen them at garage sales for $1... now we are talkin' colorful again ! John V.

Any belt pouch should work just fine. Something for a small point and shoot camera or even a pouch for a big Swiss Army knife could be OK.
