How to press the record usinf the Steadycam?

Hello,
i am a glidecam x10 user,
having the ex1r camcorder.
I have a little problem when i am starting to rec.
When i press the rec button, the whol esystem is shaking as you can understand, the same happens when i want to stop the rec.
I am thinking for a zoom lens controller or using the IR Controller.
What are doing in this situation?

Not sure if Sony changed that in EX1-R, but on EX1 you can use remote commander only in front of the camera, not from the back side of it, I tried using wired lens controllers, but they all have heavy stiff wires, so it is really challenging to keep camera in balance with those going of the mounting base;
so basically I do have the same problem,
I use rec button on the top handle and have rec/stop function assign to one of the buttons, but I'd love to have start/stop and zoom on my gimbal

1) say "Hold for camera"
2) press the record button
3) frame the shot
4) let everything settle for 2 seconds
5) say "Camera ready"
6) edit out the beginning stuff in post
