Switching from Merlin to Glidecam 4000HD?
 

Anyone in the wedding market with an HDSLR make this switch and not regret it? I am toying with the idea because I like the idea of being able to set it flat on the ground, it's heavier so that a small breeze doesn't affect it as much, and I see people getting excellent results despite it's relatively low price. Anyone with wisdom on this?

i never owned a merlin and one of the main reason I don't prefer to use it because you have to baby sit the whole system from the start of you holding it. It wont stand by itself with the camera.
If you have a 7d and a lens on top of it, it will be pretty heavy in the long run.
Unilke the glidecam, you can have it rested anytime, or lean against the wall.
