Steadicam Vest... Assembly Help

Hi,

This is silly, but I am having a hell of a time figuring out the instructions on the Stedicam Merlin Arm/Vest system. I have a pile of velcro straps and the instructions aren't exactly clear.

http://www.tiffen.com/images/content...mVest_QS-E.pdf

That above is the document I am referring to.

Specifically the paragraph:

Two straps are 22" long. One is 18" long. Attach one of the 22" straps to the right side of the waist panel of the vest. Overlap the second 22" strap on top of it. Pass the open end of that second 22" strap through the keeper, and fold it back on itself...

What the what? Why do you put another 22" strap directly on top of it? Overlap it exactly? Open end? What open end? How come they mention nothing about the left side of the vest?

Please help. So confused.

Re: Steadicam Vest... Assembly Help

Follow the photos, they are better than the words cause it does get confusing. The long straps are for the waist area. Just Velcro them on and feed it through the back straps then Velcro it back onto itself... It's ok, it takes a while the first time.... Like everything else ;)
