Varavaon Birdycam 3 Axis Brushless Gimbal -- My Video Review
Like many users here, I'm a traditional Steadicam user. I love the purely mechanical nature of the device and appreciate the arm workout when going handheld. ;)
However, since the MOVI came out I've been extremely interested to purchase a 3 Axis Gimbal to test out. Unfortunately, they have all been either out of reach (like the MOVI) or of questionable quality (like the CAME eBay kits). The Varavon Birdycam seemed to strike the ideal balance on paper and I finally got my hands on mine a week ago. I played with it for a few hours last night and put together the video review below. As I continue to use and gain experience with it, I will post an updated review comparing different shots that you can and cannot do compared to a Steadicam. Anyone else jump on the 3 Axis Gimbal bandwagon yet? What are your impressions?
