Magiqcam II versus IIa
 

So I'm looking at a stabilizer (used) which its seller describes as a Magiqcam IIa.

But, when I look at the HBS page pictures of the IIa, and compare them to the images of the rig for sale, I notice a number of differences, like:

The IIa springs are "jacketed" with some sort of fabric boots, I guess to protect them. The HBS pix show the rig with the jacketed springs; the seller's pix show the springs bare.

The IIa lower mounting brackets in the HBS pix are both welded solidly in place, front and rear. The seller's pix shows the front (I think) lower bracket as swiveling around, and locked with a screw-in knob.

The HBS IIa pix show both the upper and lower arm-housings as 'smooth' - nothing poking up or sticking out. The seller's pix show some kind of long screws mounted to the arm-housings; looks like a spring-tension-adjustment thing.

The HBS IIa pix shows the center post as bright metal (chromed, or something) while the seller's pix shows the whole rig, everything except the springs, as black-finished.

So if the seller is showing pix of an all-black rig, with no fabric covering the springs, with a movable lower mounting-bracket arm, and big exposed adjustment screws on the outside of the arm housing, is he showing a model II, or a model IIa...?
