Granted, APS-H isn't much smaller than traditional 35mm, but I'm a little surprised that they went with APS for a top of the line pro camera. Here's the direct link to the Canon product page:

Now where is the 40D?

I was thinking the same thing.

Now that this camera is announced and the 400D is out, Canon should announce the 40D soon because the 30D looks pretty expensive to the average person considering the pixel count is much lower than the 400D.

For having a new 45 point auto focusing system, your pictures will look incredibly sharp. Looking at all the other features in this camera, the 4000 dollar price tag is pretty cheep.

The significance of this announcement is that the sensor elements have been designed to capture more light. I hope this technology moves to video sensors ASAP.

Maybe just wait for Canon to put out their 30fps digital still camera.

Yeah, this is the ride. If some camera manufacturer were smart enough to market their unit as the "golf" camera, you can imagine seeing one in every shop and with every golf teacher. The camera would come with a software that would stitch together the frames into a movie as well as show the motion sequence for analysis.
