Interactivity and streaming
What creative solutions have you seen to enable remote participants to interact in a streaming scenario, for instance training sessions at an international conference?

Hi Jim
Our CDN Livestream has a conference option that also has remote cameras for participants but we also have a local company that uses just webcams for their hook-ups when quality is not so important Video Conferencing Software | Web Conference | GoToMeeting For our wedding show we get calls from people watching and just use a cell phone on speaker so the host can chat on air but one presumes you are looking for a video/audio option with remote cameras? |

Let's say a conference is running 3 tracks, so you have a camera in each meeting room, then one in the main area for the large presentations. In the training rooms perhaps a GoToMeeting type projection allowing the remote attendees to be selected for a video feed and activating their microphone to ask questions. Seems like you need someone managing the online folks and supporting the speaker - "OK we have a question from Bob in Perth Australia ...". Also a text feed for questions. Those virtual meeting applications are about the only thing I can think of for this, so that's why I'm asking. And of course assuming you can scratch together sufficient bandwidth.

person to person at different locations would depend on the lag for use full colaberation.

This is how Livestream do it at their studio and call it a webinar ..they use a laptop to answer questions

It really depends on the kind of interactivity needed.
I've used Skype Group Video, Telestream Wirecast on laptop with its built in Screen Capture, its external display output to a projector onto a screen. This way everyone in the room can see everyone on Skype. The people on Skype can see and hear the room via a webcam or camera hooked up to the Skype call. This way everyone can see everyone else. If need people, people can walk up to camera/mic/laptop to ask question of the people on Skype. If you want, you can stream everything out to whatever CDN of your choice so the online viewers can see both Skype and the live room. Last edited by Craig Seeman; August 26th, 2016 at 09:22 AM. |
