Wedding Demo Tape

I am just curious how long you guys make your wedding demo tapes. Mine is about 30 minute long and I think that is a little over kill. I just did a real nice wedding last week and I thought I would make a new demo. I appreciate the input

Thanks

My demo is still a "work-in-progress", however, I think 7 minutes is about all the longer you are going to hold someone's attention. You need to get your point across fairly quickly. I keep making the mistake of trying to get "everything" in, instead of showing what I can do.

Demo reels usually include HIGHLIGHTS of your shoots/career.
I've never heard of a complete movie (being a wedding or something
else) being included. Sometimes shorts might be included
completely. If you are trying to get more weddings I suggest
you include the best stuff accross your wedding shoots on one
tape and edit it so that it feels like one piece (not that it jumps
around all over the place).

I also think 30 minutes is way too long. How long would you
watch something from someone else when you are considering
this person for a job (and you have more then one tape to watch)?

You can always begin with a 5-10-15 minute introduction which
highlights your work and then put a full movie after that for if
people really want to see your best work completely.

Just my "thoughts" on this matter.
