California Tax ID for video biz?
 

Does anyone know for sure if I need a tax id for a video production company. It's pretty much all service right? Weddnigs, events, trainings... But if I sell extra copies of a vhs or dvd am i supposed to be charging tax?

The best thing to do is contact the state tax office. They can tell you if you need to collect tax or not.

Having been through this same issue several years ago, this is truly the best avenue to take. They will know exactly what you need to do.
