Does anyone know how the Mack warranty works?

I purchased a Mack-4year warranty on my DVX100. If down the road I need to send it in for service do I send it in to Mack. Are they just as good at working on the DVX as Pansonic themselves?
Lastly how do I know my Mack warranty is activated. I sent out the card with the reciept and all the info the week I got the camera but never recieved any confirmation mail or anything.

You should direct your questions and inquiries to Mack. Whatever we say really won't have any effect on the terms of your warranty and Mack's interpretation of them.

one thing i found intriguing is that bottons sliders, switches HEADS are NOT covered....

this is surprising when u consider that even though these are the most freq used parts, if they fail they are still a manufacturers defect as these are basically parts of "normal operation" NOT wear and tear.

fact remains these parts SHOULD BE designed to withstand wear and tear, i mean lets say your firewide plug dies... after 3 uses...

is that wear and tear??

according to the warranty provider it is, but who decides what is a defect and what is wear and tear...?

even so, i got one of these as i bought my DVX from another country... at least i have peace of mind knowing that if the tape transport Mechanism dies its covered...
