What to do with the tapes
 

What do you guys and gals do with your tapes after the product is done? I know photographers are really stingy about giving negatives, I know when I got married I had to purchase the negatives. But I was wondering what you all do with your video tapes.

I don't shoot weddings anymore, but typically, with negatives anyway, you wait 3-5 years to make sure no more orders are coming in. After that, try to sell the footage to the couple for a couple of hundred bucks and if they don't want it, trash. It's a last ditch effort for incremental revenue.

Interesting, I had never thought of that. I do however figure a price into my pricing for the tapes. Certainly, I won't typically just give them away.
