invoice software/templates -- free
 
Anyone know of anywhere to download some template or software for doing invoices? I don't even have MS Word anymore, so if they're those type of files, no good to me.

People are starting to ask for invoices, and apparently my elegantly typed out ones from Wordpad aren't professional enough. Jeez. People.

I use an Excel template. In order to avoid calculation erros.
Has VAT as well!! :-)
How do you survive without spreadsheet and wordprocessing software?

Easy--I just don't deal with that stuff much. All my word processing can be done in Wordpad.

Can't you import .doc files into Wordpad? One could save an MS Wordfile as plain text, send that to you and you copy and paste it into Wordpad... that would surely do?

Yeah, I think that works. I'm still not sure how that would let me create invoices, though. That's my main concern. Or, let me ask this: anyone have a serial number/code for Office 2000? I have it, and it's legal and everything, but I don't have the serial numbers handy. Really, I'll send someone a jpg of me holding the CD if you want.

I have a Mac, so can't help you there.

it comes from Excel where the calculations are done automatically. Of course the VAT is no use in the US, would have to tinker with it.

Hello;

I finally got EXcel and will never go back to the other way.

It's useful for other stuff too.

Make your template and just fill in the blanks.

If you like I'll send you a copy of my template in Acrobat so you can see what I mean.

Mine is set up for three copies. One mailed (or emailed) to client, one goes in the clients folder, and one into a folder by invoice number. That is after it has been paid. Until then the 2 sit in a folder marked invoices due. The two I keep has space for commets I may want to add, pluss date paid, amount, and check number.

In the long run it saves time.
