Shooting News

The Govenor of my State was recently in the Hospital for breast cancer and she had to have sugery. So I heard on the news she was going to be released from the hospital on Wednesday. It was my day off from work so I decided to go to the hospital with my GL2 and get some shots of her leaving. I figured all the local news stations and press would be there. I dont work for a station, I just wanted to get some shots and practice, so I have more to add to my demo tape.

I felt like a fool with all these guys with these huge shoulder cameras. A guy from NBC30 Connecticut News goes to me is that a camera in that bag, I'm like Yup. He said who do you work for, I said, no one, I just figured this would be a good time to get some practice for my demo tape, because I want to get into the business and be a photographer. He looked at my GL2 and was in aweah. A couple of the other photogs said that's a great camera. Espically for someone like mysefl and they said you cant even tell the difference from their cams.

He gave me alot of good advice and told me to get a scanner and shoot some news and sell it to us. I told him I did that already but didnt ask for any $. It was my first time, bank robbery footage, they aired it on the 11 o'clock news.

I told the photog I talked to one of their producers, and he said ya I know him. I told him that I sent in my demo tape and he liked it. So maybe he will tell him he saw me and I'll get a call.

But anyhow, The Govenor did not leav she was to stay another night. She did leav Yesterday (Thursday). And I was unable to shoot it because I didnt have the day off from work.
