Music Library / ASCAP question

I just got a pretty decent music library (VideoHelper.com), which seems to be pretty reasonably priced - prices are on their website. However, when I open the CD jacket, there's a note that says: "writer reserves the non-dramatic public performance rights to be licensed through ASCAP". Does this mean there's an additional fee ontop of Video Helper's blanket license / needle drop fee?

As I understand it, if I want to use one of these cuts in a corporate video or something, I pay the library the 200-something dollar blanket license or needle-drop fee PLUS a 'non-dramatic public performance rights' fee to the writer through ASCAP?

Public Performance rights refers to the live presenetation before a live audience. If the presentation or the audience is recorded, this would not apply. I think. LOL

Thanks very much for the reply.

I just checked and you're right. They said they just write that to remind us that the music still belongs to them, even though someone else may use it.

Thanks again!
