A question re. contracts..

Hi all,

finally a good legal discussion board related to the biz =). I am currently producing a 0 budget video for a band. The idea is that i will be paid a percentage of their revenue (in sweden STIM) from that particular tune directly from their publisher up until my fees have been covered. Everyone is happy with the arrangement (even me as i do not need the cash right now, but rather the exposure :).

Now, it has befallen upon me to write up the contract for this and before i sit down with my legaleze dictionary and starts putting in 32 syllable words on random (this is a joke btw :), do anyone have a mockup/example of this type of contract? Or any contract pertaining to financial agreement between a client and you.

Anything to help me avoid missing any vital bits in the end. :)

/Henrik

Hi Henrik,

I think that the Video University site may have some useful contractual samples that you may be able to adapt for your situation.

Take a look over at:

They only had commercially availible contracts there (that i could find anyway). And when you don't have a creditcard, it's not the easiest to buy their set for $29.99.

The search goes on...

Henrik,

I just paraphrase ones I have found on Google. I think more of what it says than that your contract have an even flow of protections for you and your client. I have that clause in their about technical difficulties being reimbursed to a maximum amount of money's paid. And that one I've had to use. But I would just google and piece meal one together.
