Flipping Cameras

I'm just wondering if anyone has developed a strategy for flipping cameras. You spend 5 Gs for a camera and there are always new, "higher tech" cameras coming out. I produce about three times a year usually lasting about 1.5 months. For the rest of the time, the camera sits there. I will not rent out cameras, so I'm thinking about trying to back to back the next two productions and sell my XL2...then get a new camera early next year. Im interested to here any thoughts on this.

DVX's have been holding value well. This strategy would not work for them. And if you are using your camera for 4.5 months a year, you are getting way more use out of it than most people. You would be flipping cameras at the worst time in their use (probably more than 20 hours, so can't be treated as new, yet not so much use that low price is justified). I would think if you do this you would always want to buy the extended warranty, just for resale ease/value.
