Any replicator service for dual-layer?
 

I use Kunaki.com a lot... but they won't touch dual-layer DVD's.

Is there any similar service that will?

I'm going out on a limb and assume you mean "duplication service" and not "replication service". Because most, if not all replication houses will create DVD-9 (dual layer) disks for you.

Replication is the process where a glass master is made, then a nickel stamper, followed by the injection molding of disks from that stamper. While no longer expensive, the minimum quantity is generally 1,000 units.

You're probably talking about "duplication" or burning your content to a recordable DVD in quantities well under 1,000.

The reason you're having trouble finding someone to duplicate DVD-9 is because, well, even in this day and age, they suck. Dual layer recordable DVDs are prone to failure and don't work well across the myriad of brands and models of DVD players. Most duplicators have simply given up on them.

Hi Kevin. You might give "Idea Media" (DVD Replication- USA's #1 CD Replication & DVD Duplication Specialist) a shot, they may duplicate DVD-9 for you. They have a live chat line so you can ask those questions in real time. For what it's worth, during the past several years I have burned and duplicated single sided dual layer DVD's in the hundreds with no problems what-so-ever. I have tested them on DVD, and Blu-Ray players ranging from high end to low end and they have all played fine, and to date, I have never had a customer complain of disk failures. This is not to say that some old outdated DVD players will not have problems. I have only been using Verbatim DVD+R DL injet printable blanks. Your burners need to be dual-layer compatable with up to date firmware. Just thought I'd pass this info along to you. Good luck.
