What should I get prior to renting out my camera package

I have decided to rent out my camera and gear to an indi feature starting principal next week. They'll have it for 1 month and I was curious what anyones thoughts were on what I should be asking for with regards to rental agreements, insurance, etc. I'm not looking for cautionary tales or horror stories about bad experiences- this is my baby we're talking about here and I'm already nervous enough. Just thought someone may have some insight for me.

if they have production insurance you need to be named as a vendor in the insurance. If they don't have insurance I would suggest maybe getting a credit card and trying to put a hold on the approx. value of the gear. The very first thing I did with my xl-h1 was rent it to an indie production, now these were friends of mine so it wasn't super structured but everything went really smooth.

You mean have me named as an additional insured on the certificate with my name and address on it? What about a rental agreement, does it really mean anything at the end of the day?

certificate of insurance .. be sure to CALL and make sure it is good - i've seen persons make copies and change names ...

get rental $$ up front ...

forget the CC hold unless you have merchant account - it will not work .. as anybody can challenge a hold/charge ...

make sure the rental fee is worth your slight worry ...

see if you can read/get a copy of a rental agreement from a local rental house ...
