Additional services .... New contract

I was wondering what the best approach is. If you have a client that wants additional services, do you rewrite the contract or add it somehow, like an extra page?

I rewrite the whole contract at the moment.

If you mean a corporate gig, and the paperwork has already been signed then I write an ADDENDUM to the service agreement and of course the client signs it etc etc.
If its for a wedding...come to think of it it hasn't happened to me in many years so I really don't worry about it but if it were to happen I would add it to the exsisting paperwork and have them sign the add on with the new pricing for it.

It happens far more often on corporate stuff than anything else and my lawyer told me a long time ago to just write the addendum to the service agreement and mark it as such.

so far I've not had a problem with anyone doing it that way.

Thanks Don, I was referring to wedding work. I've had it happen a couple of times. I'm trying to make it easy on my customer and still cover my posterior.

OK, well depending on the desing of your agreement if there's room to add the service and all the info regarding it then add to your current paperwork and make sure the client initals or signs it. Otherwise you can do an addendum and it becomes a part of the original as long as they sign it.
Make sure to write into the addendum that it is an addendum to the agreement YADA YADA YADA... so there's no question later.
Don't forget to add in the money ;-)
