Anyone had experience with the Edirol F1?

I'm looking at going tapeless but would like the security of tape running in my three z1s as well.

I posted a question about the way the HDR60 and MRC1 handle the job but no-one seems to know how honest Sony are when they say their software stitches 4Gb files together for NLE.

My instinct is to go with an NTFS solution and the Edirol appears to be the only machine that will meet this spec. Unfortunately it's also very pricey so I'd to benefit from someone's experience with one.
