How to screen my movie

Without the time or patience to turn it into film, DVD is the easiest option and probably the worst quality. Most local theaters don't have a High Def projector so the options are limited.

Is there another solution for showing your movie on the big screen?

Hook a laptop up to a projector and view the high def file?

Any ideas?

I'd burn a DVD, rent a projector, and show it that way at a theater. Most theaters in my area have some sort of slide projector and you can put the video projector there. Or down in the aisle or seating area, depending on the theater.

Btw, most film festivals don't want film outs anymore--it's cheaper to use DVDs. Besides, spending $20-30,000 on a film out won't incread your odds of getting distribution, into fests, etc.

First of all, the uprezzing DVD player do a pretty nice job from sd DVD, so you might consider that route. Second, at 48 Hour Film Project showings in regular theatres , they seem to do a decent job projection..

My film screened the other day at the Delray Beach Film Festival, and it looked and sounded good, but it did look like the brightness was cranked up a little bit. We used a 4x4 tobacco filter and it looked great on their projector!

Thanks!

I am entering a festival where DVD is the only acceptable format so...that is the route I must take. Thanks for the feedback
