PD150, 1/25 or 1/60 to get film look? at DVinfo.net

hi all,

I tried reading previous posts here and well...being a non technical person, i got more confused. Please see if i understood correctly

film look is shooting at 1/24 secs, so by right, i should try my best to shoot with my PD150 at 1/25, which is closest to real film speed, to get film look. am i right?

shoot at 1/60 so i get more "frames", a safer approach. then deinterlace (hope i am not making a fool of myself) in FCP, which will somehow get me 1/30s or something like that....

ok...sorry....i know there is no best way to this...but i am more towards a safe way to get film look eventually. so i should always try to shoot at 1/60....

Help!

Film Effects for FCP www.nattress.com does a great 24p simulation from 60i NTSC, and also has a very nice de-interlacer for doing 25p from 50i. Either way looks good, and I'd suggest using which ever is easiest for your final workflow. Remember, 25p will have to be slowed to 23.98p and 3:2 pulldown added to go to NTSC TV.

Yeah, I use Graeme's filters. With those you have to stay at 1/60. I have to say what they do, for the price, Graeme is giving them away. I've shot stuff on a VX2000 that people have asked, "Did you shoot on 16mm?" Try Graeme's stuff. Thanks Graeme. Hope you're family is well.
