Magic Bullet Suite version 2 is available

RedGiant Software has released version 2 of their Magic Bullet Suite (http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/magbulsuit.html). A demo is available for download.

It will be interesting to see if the new version improves render times, if nothing else.

I am also interested in how the render times have improved. I won't use it because of the render times. I cannot get anything done because of it.

Whoever decides on it, let us know how it works out compared to the first Magic Bullet Suite!

Dunno of the improvements (although the demo did seem to be faster than the previous version), but one thing I've noticed is that for some reason the looks in the AE Magic Bullet look much better than the same looks in Magic Bullet For Editors.

Perhaps the difference from MB in After Effects to MB for Editors in Premiere Pro is due to the greater (16-bit-per-channel) color support in After Effects (assuming that this is set for the project)?

It shouldn't be (I'm using the Vegas version btw). As far as I know MB works in 32 bit colour internally regardless of any program settings.

Simon,

I didn't know that you were using Vegas. My thought was that perhaps the downsampling back to 8 bits of precision would result in greater rounding errors and thus result in some loss. Of course, I believe that PPro now works in YUV (don't know about Vegas) while AE still uses RGB... of course, I could also be half asleep and typing gibberish... :-)
