Skin tones in Digital

If digital sensors can't register skin tones like film does, then it's always a dead giveaway. However, what if someone shoots on Digital and then scans it on 35mm film for theatrical distribution. How will the same colors be played back? Will it look more filmic and natural or will it still look like video?

Anybody done tests on this specifically? Most video footage fails when we see humans in the frame. The skin tone tells us immediately it was shot on video. Are there any ways to correct this or work around this to achieve film-like skin tones in interiors/exteriors? Thanks in advance.
