Idea for film look.
Has anyone tried bringing a 35mm still camera to their shoots, take a picture from where the camera is, develope the film then try to match the look of the digital video to the photgraph in post?
I think this may help, since we have all these tools for getting a film look but how do we know what it would look like if it was taken by film? |
That would be fine if what you're trying to match is the look of that particular film stock. But different types of film look different from each other.

i very often use instead of directors finder a photocamera and same time take pics. It works especially fine if You plan to use 35mm adapter - DOF, FOV, colours(if you happen to use film based 35mm camera), overall light conitions.
