Is there a program besides After Effects that can turn down the Sharpness in POST?

I just took After Effects off my PC for a while until I can get more Hard Drive. Is there another program that turns down the Sharpness? The majority of basic Video Editing programs only have the option to raise it.

VirtualDub is free and allows you to run a whole bunch of filters over video.

Where do I get it?

Do you have a link to the site. I'd very much appreciate it if you lead me to it.

Hey James I just add a small blur to my footage. It gets rid of the harsh edges that video can have. I am talking small maybe .2 to .5 but adjust to whatever looks good to you and then decrease it slightly.

Yes, a small amount of blur is the way to go. I prefer to add it to another track in my NLE (an adjustment layer OR a copied video track), that way I can tweak it and A/B it to check its effect.

You can also achieve the "instant sex" look, dreamy, blown-out highlights and blur, by using a levels filter in addition to a heavier blur setting... then adjust the track's opacity. It can be as subtle or as over-the-top as you wish.
