Saving Still & Motion Images Question

I'm in the process of putting together a CD of my original still images and motion images for multi-media use.

Does anyone have any tips on the proper resolution that images should be? For example, I saw a site that provided 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 1680x1050 of still images?

Any suggestions on do's and don'ts?

By the way, I use the JVC GY-HD100U and my images will be still images from video footage as well as some motion images that range 10-15 seconds that can be looped. I'll be using Pinnacle to grab my still image frame.

Thanks in advance.
Lisa
