Video Game Screen, how?

I've always loved the documentary grain you can see in Saving Private Ryan or Children of Men... so I wanted to intergrate those looks with this overexposed one below. What methods in production and post would prepare me to achieve this? Thanks!

Hey Steve,

I'd definitely check into the Magic Bullet products from Red Giant. The way you are able to manipulate the looks of the video with those products is amazing. Not only do they do a fabulous job of color manipulation to achieve film looks, but you can also get into giving the footage that "Grindhouse" destroyed film look if you prefer... or Matrix, or Fight Club... you name it. There are just tons of presets or you can build your own. Version 3 will be out very soon and it looks to have a really innovative new interface that lets you drop filter on the actual camera interface, so you can drop the filters on the subject, in the mattebox, on the lens, or in the camera and they will all behave differently. Or combine. Here is a video preview I found:http://www.studiodaily.com/main/news/feed.rss/8216.html

Jeff thank you, that's a perfect reference for what i'm talking about. I'm also relieved to see it's a sort of plugin for AE. It appears to be an overexposed + grainy mix with lower saturation.

cheers!

No problem Steve. I coan spend hours in the existing suite. I can't wait to get the new one. The interface looks really fun top design your own style with.
