Hello, I'm a G3 Mac user and up to now have been using entry level equip. I have a SonyDV one chip camera and do my editing on IMovie 2.1

I'm preparing to upgrade all my equip across the board as I'm thinking about starting a Video event business. I have much to learn. Recently some friends asked me to video their sons wedding. At first I turned them down as I've never done anything like this before. Well, they talked me and I gave it a shot. After editing on IMovie I produced a 45 min movie for them. They loved it and this whole event has got me thinking about starting up a business.

Here is a short 4.25min sample of the video.

I'm learning alot by reading the DV forum. I hope to upgrade my camera to a VX2000 or VX2100. I plan to upgrade my MAC to a G4 and for editing to Final Cut Express and then FCP.

Thank you all for this great site.

Welcome aboard Rich! There are quite a lot of wedding shooters
here and I'm sure some threads will turn up if you search on
'wedding' here on this board.

Good luck with your business plans!

Rich-
I have pretty much the setup you are looking to get, vx2000, Dual G4 and FCP and all i can say is go for it!! You'll never look back, the vx2000 is a great all-around performer, and the G4 Mac running FCP is very very nice. You might even want to consider one of the new G5's... :)
