Sean McHenry - the man, the myth

Hello all,
I have actually been here for a while now, happily reading the entire NLE group and PDX10 group where I make regular postings.

In the words of Bill Cosby, "I started out as a child". I took a 2 year course of study in High School in "Radio and Television Production and Broadcasting". While there, several of my classmates and I drove from Columbus, Ohio to Cincinnati, Ohio and took the FCC 3rd class broadcasters test - and passed. We were 17 and 18 years old at the time and fully licensed to be "On-Air" broadcasters. Pretty neat.

From there I took some Photography at Ohio State, some Electronics at DeVry and some programming at Columbus State.

I got a real job in broadcasting some time later at WCMH-TV (an NBC OnO) in Columbus in Engineering and stayed put for about 16 years. After all those years, seeing the changes in broadcasting, quality dropped tremendously, content was all crap, news was really a magazine format and sensationalized everything, etc. I got out of that end of it and became the Engineer for a local post house. SOS Productions.

Then, the bottom fell out of the post business and 2/3 of the staff was let go so I went into broadcast sales with a major Ohio dealership who shall remain nameless. (I'll tell you if you ask but it's not important here)

I recently got the bug to finally get a few small story lines out of my head and on tape so I bought a PDX10 camera and some other gear from my own company (yes, I get to buy at cost) and am working on a few projects.

I am a certified Avid editor, have been using Adobe Premiere since 4.2 and know a little about Photoshop, SoundForge, Acid, Sorenson Squeeze, Cleaner, Procoder and a few other necessary programs.

If anyone needs any help all they have to do is ask. I have a web site that helps explain all the odd things I do located here: http://wwwMcHenryTech.com

I have a personal site here: http://65.60.189.39/

You can always find me on the PDX10 boards so drop by and see us all there. If you are bored, jump over to http://www.weeklydv.com for some fun.
