Hello From Virginia

Hi everyone. I'm 19 years old and I am a film student at Messiah College in PA. I live in Ashburn Virginia. I just purchased a GL2 which I am very pleased with.

I do not plan to be a videographer or anything of that sort. My true passion is in post production, creating special FX and the like using blender 3d and hopefully something like maya at some point.

I currently run a 3.2ghz HT Widescreen Toshiba Satellite notebook with 512mb of ram(I plan on buying another gb soon) as my primary editing machine. My NLE is Adobe Premiere 5.1. A little old but it gets the job done.

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself.

-Patrick

Blender is one of the best open source/free 3d modeling programs around. It's gotten better with each release.

Amen to that. The latest release includes support for soft bodies which means you can do more realistic skin, cloth, and any other soft items. I highly recomend blender.
