Hi from London, England!

Hello everyone, great to be on here.

I work for a film company as a writer/script editor and also direct/shoot/edit etc... low budget music videos, ( YouTube - Ten City Nation - Hidden Shallows )

corporates, (trust me, they're too dull to watch!)

gigs ( YouTube - Darrell Scott - Wayfaring Pilgrim - live at the Icarus Club )

and short films ( YouTube - Viola - Short Film ) on the side.

I use a Canon XH-A1, manfrotto 503 head and legs, Sony Hdr-hc7, fig rig, flip mino HD, 2007 macpro with final cut studio and assorted other bits and bobs. I have serious T2i related camera envy right now.

Will hopefully be making a short horror film in the next few of weeks, which I'm quite excited about. Will post it up here when its done.

Look forward to being part of the dvinfo community :)

Henry

Hi Henry, and welcome aboard. I'm up in Holloway.

I sold my XHA1 for a 5dmkii and now have to rent "proper" video cameras when needed which, in retrospect is not ideal. I miss the A1 and advise you to hang on to yours particularly since the Yen is putting up the price of replacement cameras. The Canon DSLR's are fantastic, but they're not video cameras.
Good luck with the horror flick.

cheers

Dom

Hi Dom

Thanks for the camera advice. Agree that the XH-A1 is a lot more use for most of the work I do, just get jealous looking at the wonderful DoF you can get with the DSLR's. It's the only way I'm ever going to be able to afford to work with separate lenses so I might save my pennies and buy a T2i as a cam specifically for shorts/music videos.

Hello Henry, welcome to dvinfo.

There's quite a few of us Brits here - over 400 active now I believe. When my laptop comes back from hospital, I 'll be posting an update to the list of Brits which will include yourself and a good few others who have joined recently, but for now here's a link to the last version posted: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/these-pe...ml#post1488252
