Hi Reuben,

I couldn't hit you with a rock from my place but I'm not too far - I think there are a couple more lurking here. Welcome to the best forum there is, you've find more information than you can use in a lifetime and plenty of people to help you make sense of it.

Hlo Reuben.

My sister moved from Narara, too many flying rocks :) Nice area of the central coast, especially if you're into sailing, and video of course.

Cheers.

Hey guys,
North end of the Coast here.
Great idea this, if any of us need extra hands for a job, this would be far better than Gumtree.
I mainly do live events and a few weddings.
Z5, GH2, GH1 and a few good consumer cams.
Happy filming
:)

Re: Hello from central coast NSW Australia

Sorry took so long to reply.
Well I shook the proverbial tree and got a few replys.
I am up for free work if anyone needs any help on productions weddings and films.
I have made a few short films DOP and producing .
I agree with you Gerald this is a good way to network.
Yes paul this is a good site I do most of my research here, such good people willing to help out with technical and gear recommendations.
Though there are a few boffins here on the forums, but at least no trolls.
Are there any film comps on the coast?
Don't be strangers guys
Cheers

Re: Hello from central coast NSW Australia

we'd have to turn you to the dark side to help shoot weddings (5 gh1's & 4 gh2's here) but you never know - maybe a coffee's in order

I've actually got a couple of shorts on the back burner - I never seem to get the time

Paul,
Dark side, Panasonics ? Heard some good things about them. But ill stay faithful to my canon at the moment.
Ha yes a film idea on the back burner, well you have enough cameras to film it.
My first short film is being shown at the Parramatta Riverside theater this friday.
You can see it on the 48 eco film challenge website.

Re: Hello from central coast NSW Australia

Hi guys does anyone have a steady cam I could take a look at locally.I am thinking of getting one not sure what yet.
I have seen some from India for around 700 can anyone tell me are these any good?

Paul Mailath August 5th, 2013 07:20 AM

Re: Hello from central coast NSW Australia

depends what you're after.

there's a real alternative out there now with the brushless gimbal rigs - it won't do all the things a competent steadicam operator can do but if you're just after smooth moving shots, they look really good - I'd like to grab one for weddings.

on the other hand if you really want to operate a steadicam you'll need training, the rig you buy will depend on the weight range you want to carry. I've got a couple, been operating for a while but gave up using them for weddings and just use a glidecam - with experience you get get great shots with one of those.
